A Revolution In Designer Maternity Clothing

If there is one thing that all pregnant women can agree on, then it has to be fact that maternity clothing used to be extremely ugly. There, it has been said and now everyone knows the truth. Maternity clothes for women used to be quarantined to one small section in a retail store and the clothing was hideous. Women, newly pregnant or otherwise, do not suddenly have this overwhelming urge to wear Pilgrim collared dresses. They did, and continue to wear stomach accentuating items, sometimes even sexy maternity clothes, that celebrate their bodies in a positive fashion. Many rail thin actresses found themselves with burgeoning curves and a beautiful new figure. Maternity wear for celebrities trickled down into consumer's wardrobes.

The designer maternity world may not have as much presence as the standard fashion industry, but at least there have been extremely positive changes. Women can embrace every part and moment of their pregnancy and still be the fashion divas they want to be. This is truly an area where form and function met for great results. After all, a woman cannot stop her career and life just because she became pregnant. So say goodbye to those Pilgrim collars of yesterday and say hello to a plethora or fashion choices for today's would-be moms.
